Backed up Jazz/ Blues vocalist, Kitty Mayo, over a 4 year stretch with her band, K.M. Stutz, cabaret vocalist Claiborne Cary ( sis of Cloris Leachman) and broadway performer Vie Tabaac. yada, yada, yada
CONTRIBUTION TO LIVE MUSIC: (what's your game?): Are you a performer, act, enthusiast (fan), promoter, venue, publisher, photographer, what service, etc?
Performer, pianist, songwriter, lyricist, composer, arranger, ASCAP member
BIOGRAPHY:
I primarily enjoy the Jazz and Blues venue, having been influenced at an early age by recordings of the Oscar Peterson Trio, Duke Ellington, Andre Previn, Jimmy Smith.,Ahmad Jamal, George Shearing, Errol Garner and the like
My experience had me perform everything from Clazzic Jazz to Smooth Jazz as well as Big and Small Band music backing up stage acts in Philadelphia Nightclubs, from the age of 19, to Solo and jazz trio performances at Caesar's Hotel/ Casino, Harrah's Resort Casino and Resorts International Casion in Atlantic City. During my stint in Southeast Asia, (Vietnam Era) I engeged in a few USO shows performing high energy jazz cuts from the Les McCann/ Eddie Harris genre.
I have also enjoyed a 5 year run as Bass/ Baritone vocalist for 'The Emeralds' ( a Doo-Wop vocal Harmony group) where, in addition to being the opening act for 'The Trammps', The Skyliners", 'The Duprees"and 'Danny and the Juniors', to name a few, we also performed some 100+ stage shows with Tony Orlando in his off-broadway musical "Jukebox Dreams" at Harrah's Casino Theater and Westbury Music Fair.
I moved to Pittsburgh nearly 6 years ago, restarted my performance career, thanks to the urging and support of Dave Crisci, Mike McGann, Judy Figel and many others, but primarily my Uncle, John McDonough, who himself was an accomplished Guitarists ...Thank You, all of you ... and have benn spending my time off from Tony D'Imperio's Restauant by recording albums, if not for any other reason than to preserve my own musical legacy for myself and anyone else for whom it matters.
CLASSIFIEDS: I am in search of,, (or) I have available ,, (equipment, musicians, services, etc)
Looking for collaborators. Call me at 412.951.7090 (cell) or at Spitzer Toyota-Scion sales 412.373.6200 and leave a professional message, or eMail me at classy88s@yahoo.com If you need a soundtrack for an Ad or Special Venue, note that all the audio clips (leftbox) are sequenced tracks.
The Song Clips that I've presented here are from 3 Albums; "Classy 88's":: an intsrumental album of my renditions in various jazz styles, "Gettin' To It": which reflect a variety of vocal arrangements (Vocals From The Bar) and "Remember The Love Songs" by The Emeralds.
On that album, Frankie Lafaro (Frankie and The Fashions) graciously allowed us to record his Doo-Wop hit, "What Do I Have To Do" at Planet Entertainment in Chester, Pa back in 1997 ( nicely engineered by Dan McKeown and Al Alberts Jr.) ...well before it hit the Pittsburgh airways. Our recording of "A Bronx Tale" originally from the movie of the same name (starring Bobby DeNiro) was selected for use in the Broadway version of the play *A Bronx Tale" starring Chazz Palmontiere and "Singing Acappella" was used in the yet to be relaesed movie "The Dukes" starring Robert Davi. Please enjoy them at your leisure. Tony B.

Hi Tony, sorry to hear that you missed the ATC in Millvale. It's across the street & one block from the Shop N' Save. There's a "Sweet Lick's" ice cream stand right next to the place. See you soon! Dave

First of all I miss you and Pennsylvania..I am thrilled that the Steelers are in the superbowl. I wasn't sure what all to put in my profile, so that isn't quite done, but I am watching the inauguration , since I was there and loved every minute of it....Working on a new children's CD...and yes, some day I will win a grammy...Lavender bear was on the long list for nomination and I thought that was great.....so someday .... I love it here in CA but miss PA and you...remember how we used to laugh? sing? dance? gotta run the girlfriends downstairs are getting the bubbly out.....keep in touch POP

love Bren
