BIOGRAPHY:
PATTI SPADARO is a creative, passionate lead guitarist/singer/songwriter who has recorded and released several CDs and performed all over the country. Patti spent 10 years working as a full time musician in the Los Angeles area - performing, touring, recording, and teaching guitar lessons. Now she is back in her home state of PA, playing around Pittsburgh. She performs with the Patti Spadaro Band, and with other bands, as well as solo acoustic.
The Patti Spadaro Band plays bluesy jam-rock originals and covers with wailing female lead guitar and vocals. Their music has a good groove and a good vibe, with lots of tasty improvisation.

Hi Patty! I'm looking forward to hearing your band beyond the pieces you have posted on PLM and PJN. I started out in folk blues, before I went into jazz and Berklee, and skipped the "rock" phase altogether. So I appreciate deeply your commitment to the blues in all forms. I myself am a bad blues player, who spent (some would say wasted) my Berklee and professional years playing ECM art jazz (heavily influenced by classical harmonies, like Pat Metheny, Eberhart Weber, Chick Corea, Gary Burton etc.). I'm trying to make up for it now by taking some lessons with Jimmy Ponder. Maybe something will rub off. I've written a lot of jazz compositions though, and hope to get good enough by this Fall to record a cd of originals, hopefully with some added visceral energy to my soloing! ;-)

I grew up across the street from Peter Guralnick, who has written numerous award-winning books on the history of American Roots Music, and his brother Tommy, who is an avant-garde jazz saxophonist, and owner of the acclaimed jazz loft venue in Alburqerque, NM. They have influenced me enormously. Thank you for your commitment, again!

Best wishes......mer

Patti,

Thanks for inviting me to sit in with you. It was a ball although my chops were pretty wiped out from my previous gig of 3 solid hours of playing. You are quite a marvelous performer/musician/composer. You have a very special and personal groove that is irresistible. Thank you for the CD... I love it and will post a review of it in the next couple weeks.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing you again.

Your new fan,

Nelson

Patti, you are a fantastic guitarist. You more than hold your own with anyone in this area. You playing has soul and feeling reminiscent of bands like the Dead and the Allman Brothers. They just happen to be 2 of my faves. I'd be happy to share the stage with you any time!! It's always a pleasure.
