CONTRIBUTION TO LIVE MUSIC: (what's your game?): Are you a performer, act, enthusiast (fan), promoter, venue, publisher, photographer, what service, etc?
I guess I was predestined to be musical. As an infant, I couldn't go to sleep unless The Beatles were playing in the next room (sorry for wearing out what would be collectors items, sis!) There was always music playing at home - on the hi-fi, on TV, the radio, my brother's "space helmet stereo", singing. I started playing the piano at age 6 trying to pick out what my sister had just practiced. By age 9 I played for any audience that would listen. Since 14 I've been playing for a living. I get to do what I love and have an impact on people at the same time. I grew up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, I'm married, with three children, and the director of music at Orchard Hill Church in Wexford, Pennsylvania. Musically speaking, I have a degree in Music Education from Duquesne University and from "all those clubs in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia" (as my good friend John Parrendo is fond of saying.) Have been involved with numerous rock and country bands since 1978 including: Mydus, Fine Line, The Cameron/Paul Band, The Skeeter Hill Band, Unwound and with B.E. Taylor at his Christmas shows. In the 1980's, played with the 101 Band, a Contemporary Christian band that appeared on the nationally syndicated show LightMusic. The 101 Band opened for many national acts, such as Michael W. Smith, Bryan Duncan and The Allies (among whose members included Bob Carlisle of Butterfly Kisses fame), and was one of the first church bands of its kind in Pittsburgh to play clubs and on the Gateway Clipper Fleet. Every week I get to work with some of Pittsburgh's greatest musicians at Orchard Hill Church and with my good friends in The Eldorado Band. Thank you to my wife/best friend for allowing me to do what I do, and also to the best 3 kids in the world.
