BIOGRAPHY:
Gary River Wilds is known as a soulful, passionate drummer and vocalist, who's Classic Rock and Blues performances never fail to impress!
GRW started playing the drums and singing in Rock-n-Roll, Top-40 cover bands in the late 70s and early 80s in the Pittsburgh area.
1984 in Los Angeles, a collaboration with two very talented musicians formed the band "The Touch", a mix of Classic Rock / Progressive Rock and Originals, mainly playing L.A.s South Bay area thru the end of the decade
There is a strong Left Coast Blues vein running thru Portland Oregon and after the turn of the century, hitting jams and even taking a job for a year working the door and playing at the Trails End Saloon, the home of the Blues in historic Oregon City, GRW filled-in with Blues/Rock bands around Portland as a drummer-for-hire. "In Portland, I allowed the Blues to seep into my Rock'n'Roll soul, blend with the Rock, and simmer into a hot rythmic stew."
I took the drum chair in Bad MotorScooter, one of the busiest bar bands in Portland/Vancouver, and brought BMS to a new level by performing a fused injection of Rock and Blues. BMS still pumped out the Classic Rock songs tho and never failed to git-em on the dance floor. "Nothing gets my blood pumping as much as performing versions of Roadhouse Blues, You Shook Me, or Rock’in out on Montrose's Bad Motor Scooter, and StevieRay's Crossfire
Now, back home in Pittsburgh, PA and re-exploring the music scene here, I am looking forward to performing with many of the talented musicians here and bringing home some of the musical soul picked up on the journey ........................................................................................................
