Pittsburgh Live Music

All Aspects of the Music Industry ... Where It All Comes Together.

Beginning at 9am October 23rd and ending sometime on Sunday, October 26, Andy Hoke will set a new Guinness World Record for playing the guitar continuously.

In February of this year, he set a new record by playing for 45 hours and 29 minutes.

In June, some 14 year old in India playing for 53 hours - the audacity!

So, Andy will be taking the record back this fall. Wanna show up? Feel like helping? Witnesses are needed to make sure he sticks to the rules. RSVP to Andy and let him know when you can be there. I am helping Andy in any way I can and hope you all will also. This is good for Pgh, the blues community, music in general and so on.
Perhaps we can for now start a calendar for volunteers to take a block, etc. I will post all information I can get with and from Andy to this network, my site, every other on I can find. Perhaps you all could add a plug at your sites also.

Visit www.andyhoke.com to see the Official Guinness Certificate from the successful February attempt

Hope to hear from you all soon and see you in October at the Thunderbird Cafe (Lawrenceville, PA at the intersection of Butler Street and the 40th Street bridge).

This news is part of an e-mail from Andy that I have posted to start a discussion for suggestions on how to enhance and promote this event. PLEASE, reply with suggestions, you are a wealth of talent and knowledge and contacts to make this a home grown record!!

Thanks to Dave and all the others who are supporting me in this effort. Does anyone have any friends at WDVE? I thought they might want to get in on this too.

Again, great site - keep up the good work!!
